HARTFORD, CT - State Rep. McGorty Supports HB-7199 to Address Firefighter Staffing Shortages...“Fire Chiefs across the state have expressed concerns about staffing shortages, and HB-7199 is a necessary step toward strengthening our fire departments and ensuring our communities remain protected,” said Rep. STRATFORD - State Senator Jason Perillo ( R-21 ) makes a point at Stratford Town Hall on May 5th during a a presentation on High Energy Costs and the Cost of Living in Connecticut. This was the second such stop on a statewide tour of towns headed by Senator Ryan Fazio ( R-36, background left ) highlighting the dire current energy situation and steps to take to alleviate it in the future. HARTFORD-Last week, Connecticut Senate Republicans proudly stood alongside the thousands of homeschooling parents, students, and advocates that traveled across Connecticut to the State Capitol to defend their right to choose the educational path that is best for them and protest further regulation of homeschooling, as the Office of the Child Advocate released legislative recommendations to increase oversight of the system. STRATFORD, CT- The Stratford Republican Town Committee held its 2025 Lincoln Day Fundraising and Awards Ceremony Friday, April 25th at the Mill River Country Club.  Richard Fredette, left, was the recipient of The Raymond Baldwin Award given for his years of service to the party.  Mike Henrick received The Karl Sholanich Award given yearly to Stratford’s “Most Valuable Republican” for his yeoman’s work as Chair of the Board of Education. Henrick received this award for an unprecedented second time.

Also recognized posthumously was former SRTC Chair,  Councilman-At-Large and long-time youth sports coach Joseph Crudo for his years of service and dedication to the Town of Stratford.  His widow, Judith Crudo, received a plaque in his honor which is a replica of a banner the SRTC is sponsoring at Stratford High School’s Pender’s Field as a fitting tribute to “Coach” Crudo’s legacy.
